SOLAS
candela capitán
SOLAS by Candela Capitán is a performance for five performers, five computers, and an online streaming platform where "women contemplate themselves while being watched." The piece explores the overexposure of the female body in the digital age, the repetition and deterioration of images on the internet, and the hyperconnectivity of social networks. With an aesthetic defined by Apple devices, pink bodysuits, and screen lights, SOLAS questions the commodification of the body, eroticism in fashion, and the invisibility of women in the immaterial data market. Through choreography that moves between the stage and the screen, Candela Capitán proposes new ways of seeing and being seen.
